AfterDark is an operating system for the nightlife industry. Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Age is collected at sign-up and events may set a higher minimum age, which venues enforce at the door.
Members, talents, venues and organisers use the same account. Adding a venue or a talent profile changes what you can do, not who you are.
We hold what you give us: your profile, your posts, the events you attend, your orders and tickets, your bookings and contracts, your wallet ledger and your messages. Every visibility setting in Settings → Privacy is enforced in the database itself, not only in the interface.
You can download everything we hold at any time from Settings → Privacy as a single JSON document, and you can request erasure from the same place. Erasure is scheduled 30 days out so it can be cancelled by signing in again.
Records that another party is legally entitled to keep — settled invoices, signed contracts and completed payments — are retained after erasure in a form that no longer identifies you.
Wallet credit in this deployment is platform scrip. No card is charged, no fiat is moved and balances have no cash value. Ticket sales, deposits, tips and payouts are recorded on an internal ledger so that the full commercial workflow can be exercised end to end.
A production deployment routes top-ups and payouts through a licensed payment provider, applies strong customer authentication under PSD2, and carries out the identity checks that holding and transmitting funds on behalf of others requires in each market.
A booking on AfterDark is a contract between the organiser and the talent. AfterDark is not a party to it. The standard agreement generated at contract stage is a starting point and is not legal advice — read it, and replace it where your jurisdiction or your business requires something else.
Deposits are taken on signature and held until the organiser confirms the performance took place. Cancellation terms are those written into the agreement both sides signed.
Tickets are issued as unique codes bound to your account. Transferring a ticket to another member moves ownership; the old code stops working. Refunds are issued by the organiser and are not available once a ticket has been scanned.
Consumer rights and resale rules for event tickets vary by country and, in several markets, restrict resale above face value. AfterDark does not operate a resale market.
AfterDark is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number — 112 across the European Union.
Incident reports reach the organiser and the venue of the event they relate to, and can be filed anonymously. Trusted contacts you save are only shown to staff handling an incident you are part of.
Organisers can send urgent announcements to everyone holding a ticket. That channel is for safety, and misuse of it is grounds for removal.
Harassment, hate speech, impersonation, spam, and the sale of anything illegal are not allowed. Reports go to a moderation queue; outcomes are recorded in an audit trail.
Accounts can be suspended and listings unpublished where these rules are broken.
AfterDark targets WCAG 2.2 AA. Everything is reachable by keyboard, focus is always visible, motion respects your reduced-motion setting, and the interface follows your operating system contrast preference.
